Larger combustion chambers = lower compression ratio and does not have anything to do with flow rate.

Hmm no they're all about 83-84cc's. However they can be milled to 64 or even less if desired. Where did you see they offered different sizes off the shelf?

Okay, I had to get a refresher on cylinder head volume. 64cc volume will keep me around 9.5:1 compression.

I think for your heads i would just do big valves and a little bowl work and that will improve performance. i think if you went from iron to aluminum the gains would not be worth the cost unless the whole build was tailored to maximize the use of the heads.

As for the carb being too small i call BS. from personal experience. I ran 1405 edelbrock in a pretty stout 10 to 1 350 and it ran 13.3's and i ran it on a very mild 350 9 to 1 combo that went 13.8's no issues at all. It was plenty for the street and the 13.3 combo was borderline needing more fuel and since then i went to a holley.

My current 355 combo runs 12.30's 10 to 1 compression and a pretty big cam that still very nice on the street with great manners. It needs a 750 double pumper but is a hog on fuel at best i might get 9 mpg. Its fun though lol. I built it pretty much to race but i still like to drive it on the street and its not uncommon for me to put on 120 miles in one night going from cruisenight to cruisenight.

I agree first change your rear gear ratio, I would also advise putting in a medium shift kit and a stall torque converter. That will bring some pep and snap into the car.
I have 3:42 ratio in my car, I didn't mind it behind my warmed up olds 350, then went to the olds 455. I am putlling about 3k at 65 mph. Have considered going down to a different gear to get some better mileage. Cheaper changing the gear than going to gear vendors over drive!
At present I enjoy local car shows and buzzing around. Long road trips would be nice to hit further car shows, however haven't had the time last few years to do those longer shows.

Thanks for the response. I had a stage 2 Trans Go shift kit installed when my transmission was rebuilt. Rear gear with posi was originally next on the list. That may give me the best return on the seat dyno.

They are the exact same head, just one has been milled. Your Performer RPM intake will probably need cut as well.

Port matching or just proper fit with the new heads?

Yes that intake can be ported to the larger Procomp (BBO) port. The intake will need the sides cut to properly sit on and bolt down.
