Like said above measure what you have. Playdough works great too. You put it on top of the air filter and close the hood and measure. You can also use your cell phones camera to take a look. Place a work light in the engine bay and put the phone in while taking a movie. This what you can see too.
Another reason why I like the taller raised sport hood, which mine 1970 has. I fit a RPM and Qjet using a stock later 307 air cleaner I converted to dual snorkel with a 260 snorkel. The 3.5" tall 14" air cleaner with a 1" drop clears my hood, 7111 intake and Qjet. Also Motor mount condition also plays a factor, clay is your friend, it may be close with the regular flat style hood.

Will you be using a hood insulation pad on the underside?
Your clearance may be similar to the 70-72's and if so, my 14" air cleaner on a drop base atop a Quick Fuel carb and 7111 intake fits underneath my '72 with an OEM louver hood and a decent insulation pad. It does leave a minimal imprint on the pad but no closing issues with a 3" air cleaner element.
