Olds Rocker Arms????

Some months back I built a budget 455 for my 1970 Cutlass S. I posted pics and flow numbers from the J heads that I used on the engine. Like I said budget! Long story I sold the car before I finished installing the engine. Interesting twist I recently purchased the car back. I still haven't fired up the engine yet. But while scrolling through my old pics I found some nice shots of the rocker arm conversion that I built. I thought that I would share them.

Pretty cool! LS rocker arms? How much pushrod hole clearance needed to be added?

I dont remember that I had to increase pushrod clearance. I think I did that while I was porting the oil drain back. Honestly I dont remember.

Are they LS? Did you put bushings in them?

I tried fitting some 1.7's that were based on a Ford rocker body over a decade ago, but the pushrod moves closer to the center, which was going to require a bunch of clearancing, so I gave up on it at that point (had assembled engine).

What did you use for pedestals? The LS pedestals are continuous for the length of the head.

Sorry but based on that picture your geometry is off. Looks like the center of the rocker pad is favoring the inside of the stem. Just sayin.
