Houston Motorsports Park 15 June 2012
Here are a few videos of our track night on 15 June 2012. We went to Houston Motorsports Park 1/8 mile track because it was short notice...we will not be going back. It was unsafe and the track itself is crummy. The crowd was probably the biggest detractor to its appeal.
First Run against 1968 Pro-Street Camaro:

Third Run; In car video...notice how much driving I had to do to get down this short 1/8 mile track. The track was rough as hell.

This is a friend of mine, I thought it was hilarious how the guy he raced was showing off during the burnout and then got beat. Listen to the crowd react to their "favorite" losing...

I'm not from the area, and have never raced there,....... but I have seen some disturbing video of the place.............somebody posted a "Crash Video" on YouTube, the whole video was shot @ HMP in what appeared to be a single season.
If we had that many crashes at our Home track (caused by what appeared to be POOR TRACK PREP), we wouldn't have any racers still coming back for more. It looked like they were driving on ice.
Anyhow, that coupled with what you witnessed on your outing to the track, would definately make me steer clear of the place.

We have an 1/8 mile track like that too. No score boards, just a 100 watt bulb on each side for win lights. Have to go to the tower to tell them your dial-in, then go back up there for your hand written time slip. Like only one light in the pits. Last time there I had to drive my car like a mud packer and it was much slower than it is now .
