Good Harmonic Balancer for 455

Is this a good harmonic balancer for an Olds 455?

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...ake/oldsmobile

Any recommendations?

You need a external balancer for a 455. The piston looks like its been detonated.

Any time you go offshore parts it's like playing Russian roulette.
You might have more luck with https://store.prw-usa.com/dampers/hi...er/oldsmobile/

Where do you think PRW stuff is made?
OP- you have to decide whether or not you’re going to balance it internally or externally then go from there.

Check your application on Rock Auto, you should find several choices there. (Dayco, ATP etc.)

Take a peek at Scat, PP PRW and a few other SFI style balancers. They’re all the same.
Same with aftermarket Olds rods. Eagle, Scat and now Speedmaster all look exactly the same. My bet is they’re all coming from the same foundry with the only difference being individual QC checks. I can tell you categorically the Scat balancers seemed to be of better quality but their rods aren’t always. It’s hit and miss unless you want to pay for US made stuff, or pay the Chinese to make a quality product. That’s part of the problem, we’re getting to where we expect American made quality but at Chinese prices. Ain’t gonna happen very often.

How about the Pro Race balancers?

Appears to be an Australian based company.

BHJ makes a quality, affordable cast iron external balance for Olds, in addition to their more expensive SFI rated billet one.
