Flat tappet recommendation

What are the best flat tappet cam lifters available right now for a 455? I've heard the quality control isn't so good on some brands.

I use vintage lifters, you can find them if you look. I use Redline for my cam grinding, he also uses older cam cores when possible.

The cam cores aren’t the problem. The biggest causes of lifter/cam failure are by far and away improper spring pressures and the crown, or lack there of, on the lifter.
I don’t use a lot of flat tappets but I’ve had 0 issues with both Comp cams and Topline/Hylift lifters.
Hope this helps.

I try to only use hard face bottom lifters. Comps pro Magnums are hard faced. Anything over 300 open I get the core nitrided. That combo lasts for years

Thanks for the input everyone, I've heard of engines grenading lately from poor quality lifters.
