Exhaust tailpipes

I currently have these tailpipes on the 70 cutlass. Not crazy about the look

Looking for this style in a 2.5 inch. Flowmaster only has them in a 3\". Does anyone have any idea where i can find this style in a 2.5"?

Why not just run 3"? It'll probably sound awesome!

Have you considered going to a local exhaust shop? They can fabricate exactly what you want and you'll probably save money not having to pay shipping.

I have considered going to a exhaust shop. Just thought if that tailpipe was available, I could just bolt it on and be done with it.. Is mandrel bent tube overrated?

In short, yes, it is overrated. Engine Masters has an episode this season. I think there was 5hp difference between straight thru mufflers vs Super Turbo style and mandrel vs kinked on a 2.5 system.

Are you able to weld the tailpipes onto the existing exhaust? The kits you showed in your original post require welding to assemble. If you can't weld that's another reason to go to a local exhaust shop. Plus, you might be able to find a shop that can mandrel bend the pipes and do it in stainless steel if you want.

Those pipes that are in the beginning of the post slide on my original American Thunder kit from Flowmaster that is currently on the car.

Well, if they fit with a slide that would work ok, but I'd rather have my exhaust full welded together. FWIW, I had the exhaust tips replaced on my 71 98 recently for about $70. When I had full duals run years ago it was only $350 as I recall.

I tried to get mandrel 3" exhaust over rear axle at a regular shop in Wichita KS. They told me no. Now 2 1/2 no problem. I ended up dropping mine just in front of rear axle.Bills America Muffler is the shop. They do good work. Have had other cars/trucks exhaust put on by them .
