I look forward to the drag test part of this 403 build, theres nothing better than a dyno test followed by a drag test.
@ 3750 pounds 428 HP = 114 MPH
@ 3600 pounds 679 HP = 133.06 1320/133.06 = 9.92
@ 3750 pounds 679 HP = 131.26 1320/131.26 = 10.05
@ 3850 pounds 679 HP = 130.11 1320/130.11 = 10.14

Jacksonville Florida sits about 80 feet above sea level, which means a 30 + barometer is possible, Bill's dyno corrects @ 29.92, the mid 80s G body Olds should run in the above area.

Sorry Dan, this site in turning into ROP 2. He won't leave, even though nobody wants him here. You made the challenge, he isn't coming, talked down to you and insulted your ability and cars. Sorry you were only a lowly GM tech for 25 years, below his pay grade clearly. You have always been helpful to me and built an awesome 403 based beast that is something different and awesome. I guess useless knowledge about worthless Quadrajet's and overdrive transmissions is beneath the mighty one. Just leave already, nobody wants you VP.

yaaaaaawwwwn. I called you out, I don’t care what your car runs. I can drive my **** from Florida to California at 100 mph with 4 grown adults and the AC on. And your engine is a lie. Go stand in the road with your protester friends so you can get hit

Well your right about one thing, I won't be driving my car across county. I find it laughable a bracket racer of 12 and 11 sec cars hoping for mid 10s has anything for me at a drag strip.......thats the delusion of automotive. I seriously doubt we will ever see track times much less pictures posted on this site from your 403 project, although I would be very interested in seeing how fast you can get it to go. In the mean while keep "calling me out" in a desperate attempt to save face with the uninformed.

As far as my 9.3 compression stamped rocker, 228 @.050, hyd cammed, peanut port, dual plane, 467, is called "a lie" by you, I guess I'll take that as a compliment.................10.36 @ 127 @ 3720 good luck with that LOL

Right....I’m so intimidated. You claim 11’s, then 9.30’s, now 10,20’s. You are one confusing dude. Btw, my engine is a mild
I’ve forgotten more about racing than you can ever learn in your lifetime
I don’t have to post pics
I don’t have to post ET slips
obviously you think you know something about everything in which you do not.
And lastly....beat it....this is for the adults here that want facts of an Oldsmobile engine not a cookie cutter gay Chevy
have a blessed day 😷

What exactly have you done in drag racing? From what I've seen you've raced 12 and 11 sec very low end bracket bombers. Do you have any experience with NHRA class racing? Do you have any experience with heads up NA drag racing? Hey if I've got it wrong please correct me. Pretty wild statements your making considering you don't even machine and build your own engines........whats that say. Post up some pictures of that G body that the Travoto engine is going in, I'm not the only one who wants to see it, just sayin. When and if you get that Travoto G body faster than my 315 HP stock Buick let me know.

13 championships, over 200 total wins, ( 98 with just this one car ), a good amount of index racing wins, open comp, super gas( footbraking BTFW).
And...this is the only engine I did not build myself. Bill custom makes the main girdle that’s on this engine. I designed what I wanted, Bill built it. There’s 2 machine shops right now that I would trust in the entire country and Bill is one. BTW, I have a 9- second car N/A Oldsmobile powered, that I sold the engine out of years ago. I was one of very few Oldsmobile guy with a full bodied 9 second car at the time. Built the engine myself, decided to slow the car down. The only thing that I have raced and not won in is my 1997 Chevy dually. BUT.....the only 2 times I raced it....I got runner up in pro.

Ok, so you've won some bracket races, raced a 9.90 throttle stop chassis car, nice. Not exactly classes that performance is paramount, but more racing than most. So I've seen pictures of that gutted 60s Olds that you ran high 9s at some of the fastest tracks in the country, never the less at least you've done something. It would be great if you could get into the specs of the 9 sec Olds, type of engine, production heads? And so on. Very interested in that. I appreciate you filling me in, didn't know these things.

my 66 F85 ran 9.63 with a 373 rear, leaving from a dead idle. 4.195 bore x4.250 stroke. As cast Batten heads, custom solid roller, no porting on the intake or heads. Steel rods, stock steel 425 crank offset to 4.250. I several super gas races. I won 2, runnered up in 1, semi’s in 1. All FOOTBRAKING the car with no electronics, no trans brake....nothing. I sold the engine many years ago because I got real tires of wearing all the bullshit necessary to go under 10 flat in 100* weather. So...it has a pump gas 455 very simple build that will go high tens. Car will be street driven now.

I have a question: how do you race SG on a 4 tenths tree with out a trans brake and win? How much did the 66 Olds weigh? What size tire? Compression? Trans, Track? I get sick of the rules myself.

I’ve done very well footbraking. 30” rear tire, at the time it was 3280 with me. TH400 9” coal converter. It was 12-7-1 compression

I would agree thats way above average performance from that type of car, nice work. I knew a guy in the 80s that ran SST with a car similar to your 66, no trans brake, he would bring it into the first light and creep past the second light waiting for the lights to come down, usually ran .480 lights, he did ok, personally I thought he was crazy. I like racing "super ET racers" track champions, because I have nothing to lose when I pull up there. But my favorite race is when I race another car in my same class, because its heads up and I don't lose those.

Morning dew adjustments being made to the anti roll bar?

Nothing wrong with your eyes, ridiculous amount of water grains at that track, 27.40 baro. Jack under there to keep from flat spotting the rear tires.

You know, I went back and read where you had said record-setting race tracks. Keep in mind our humidity is usually 70 to 90% And the temperature at the track surface is usually 130- 160°. The density altitude during the summertime is usually 4000 feet or more because the air quality is so poor.

Dan

I've raced at Gainesville many times, depending on the time of the year that can be one of the fastest tracks, and never have not shown dyno HP at the Gator nationls in the several times I've been down there. In your opinion whats faster:

1. Track with a DA of 4000 feet with a 28.00 baro
2. Track with a DA of 4000 feet with a 30.00 baro ?

Get current weather information for Gainesville Raceway. Track elevation: 137.8 ft.

Today: Humid throughout the day. This week: Rain on Monday through Thursday.

im a very busy man but I did go to the world footbrake challenge and lost at 6 cars on Sunday due to my own fault on an auxiliary fuel pump switch, otherwise I would have went at least to the next round. I also went racing for the NHRA.TV at Gainesville and got runner up in pro. Both races using my daily driven slow 12 second 87 442 as you would call it. Class racing is for rookies. Please stop stalking me, it’s like sexual harassment at this point

Good job! How's the 403 project coming? Just interested in how fast you can get that to go with that OD trans. Your cars run just fine, and deliver the wins.

Has any testing/racing been done on this 403 Olds combination? Always very busy myself, but that doesn't stop me from developing/testing my current project.

Clearly not busy enough. Maybe if you actually were busy you’d quit looking for drama on every thread here and actually build something worthwhile...

I like the your 70s Buick GS. broke my street racing cherry in my parents 1970 350 GS at 16 years old (1973). Crazy amount of torque.for stock. Bad in rainy weather. Between the drain holes in the hood scoops and going too fast through rain puddles. Water would get under cap.in front of engine. Backfire, mess up the dual exhaust!. Love to see some picture of your engine! Hard to see the CI under the GS. As for being stock? Sure does not look so. Some fat tires in rear, Hooker headers decals, etc. She sure look like she may have some goodies under that hood! The only thing not stock on mine was slightly taller radial tires. My 1987 Cutlass 350+ with changes I made. Is way faster than the 70 350 GS stock! The 1970 350 GS was lighter and could rev higher than the 1970 455 GS.

Nice. Andy is at least an Olds guy. I have know idea why Velcropro is here. Yes, Velcro, someone else called him that. You know Velcro shoes for the very young or old, or the mentally challenged in his case. Just leave Dan alone, he challenged you, you weaseled out.

I always really like a dyno test followed with a drag test, I've done many my self over the years. And seeing Dan and I both drag race and have gotten in to it on here, I really want to see how good he is with the car, and will get congratulated if he gets it done, as you have in the past by myself even though I really don't care for you. I suspect Dans been down the track with the 403 but doesn't want to post about it. Theres nothing more to my posts than that.
BTW I know Andy.
