We made one for my uncle's '73 using Pypes downpipes and a 2.5" generic kit from Jegs... I searched my email history but can't find the part number, it was back in 2007-2008 timeframe. I think it was a generic B-body kit, we tucked the tailpipes up under the quarters then put turndowns at the end. Had to do some trimming and fitting, but it was probably one of the best results I've seen for an exhaust system. I don't have any pictures right now either, unfortunately.

It looks like Jegs makes one now for '73-77 Cutlass (30452 is the p/n), that could be the one, but the tailpipes don't look exactly the same in the picture.

You might think about buying the mufflers you want and then taking it to a local muffler shop for the pipes and installation. A good muffler shop can make it fit like you like.

x2, nothing fits like custom and honestly it's less expensive than the prefabs a good bit of the time. collectors back, full welded, bent, hung, x-pipe- 300 in labor for my set up.

I have done 2 1973 Cutlasss in the last 10 years. I bought the summit kit for the 1st one, Pypes kit for the second. Neither of them were front to rear good. Lots of fabricating on both of them , both will work with some mods. Neither of which I was happy with in the end and removed them after a few months for a local custom shop to do. The best pieces were from Pypes and I especially liked their down pipes.
I believe unless your going with a larger diameter pipe you can still find all of the parts in a stock size from Walker Exhaust for a 74 Cutlass minus the over the rear axle piece for the driver side because I believe it went to a Y pipe or something. Last time I looked Rock Auto had the pieces I described.
I have the Summit kit and Pypes pieces in my garage for some reason, cant get myself to throw out 1000 bucks worth of exhaust that never seen the road.....

i've never seen a prebent system that fit right or wasn't a bunch of pieces clamped together other than gardner,i've had a number of people bring me those systems that needed modifications to install and then welded. a good pipe shop can give you a nice system and most of us use 14 gauge pipe that is heavier than the kits which last longer.

Back in '09 I did a bumper to bumper refresh on my girlfriends '76 Salon. She had someone cobble up dual exhaust back in the early '80s. It was half-*** at best. They left the factory cross-over, removed the cat. & put a "test pipe"(remember those?)in it's place, then split off tiny dual 2" pipes that went under the driveshaft! At least it had magna-flow mufflers & what looked like the stock '73-4 tailpipes. I found a '73-4 "dual-hump" cross member & a mint pair of pre-cat. manifolds on epay. We have a nice muffler shop in town & owner bent me a set of '73 350 front pipes(he said he had specs. for pipes all the way back to to '30s) He did an awesome job, they fit perfectly. He didn't even have the car at his shop. He told me since it was missing the cat. he couldn't work on it there.

Pypes no longer makes anything Gen 3 it looks like. I was just looking for some tail pipes, the section that goes from the muffler to the bumper and nobody makes them anymore. Any leads on that would be helpful.

I have used 2 summit kits, one 2.5" and one 2.25". They work okay, but the only cutting I had to do was to trim the center sections to length. The passenger side on the 2.25" seems to need some kind of bending before going over the axle.

Besides Summit, Jegs has a kit and so does Magnaflow.

If anyone has any leads on tailpipes let me know. Muffler back.

Wow, thanks! At least it gives me a good visual on what shape they are. Too bad they're 2" and one side is out of stock. I might take a gamble on these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141666456030...witem=&vxp=mtr

Keep in mind 73 and 74 tailpipes ARE different due to rear bumper lower edge contours.
