1970 Olds 98 Turbo
Hi everyone, first post here!
I'm 18 and have a 1970 olds 98 and wanted to build the motor and put a turbo on it. I have mostly planned out all the costs and parts but had forgotten and now cannot wrap my head around oil cooling the turbo. Where exactly do I plumb oil lines into the motor for the turbo and do I need an oil cooler?
If anyone has turboed a 455 or has any insight that would be very helpful

I do not know your budget, this will determine a lot of dicisons, but single or twin turbo set ups have been done before on Oldsmobile engines, even in the very early days.
Hello and welcome,
If you want to run a fuel injection system (which I recommend) you can use the old fuel pump location on the block for the return, Oil feed can be taken from the oil pressure sender in the front of the engine.
A bigger oilpan will already help with the temperature control of the engine oil, as long as you don't want to run full throttle for extended periods an oil cooler is not that high of a priority.
A lot of inspiration for the turbo build can be taken from the V8TV Cuttlas turbo build (Bill Trovato did the engine build) and Richard Holdener who puts turbos on almost everything (both can be found on Youtube).
I run an Ebay GT45 on a slightly modified 350 small block in an altered for the 1/4 Mile, a lot of fun for a small budget. Engine is stock accept valve springs, cam, timing chain, intake manifold and exhaust manifolds. Crossover in the heads have been poured shut, the piston rings have been filed open and the oil pan capacity has been increased. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ermany-169794/
