Starting a new thread, rather than adding the the first one.

I need a passenger side lower alternator mount. I got one last week, but apparently there are differences I wasn't aware of and it won't work for my application. The mount I need positions the alternator lower and away from the engine.

The shiny black bracket is the one I just got, and doesn't work. The broken bracket is the style I need. Yes, it should have 3 bolt holes, but I had to modify it to work with a larger RobbMc fuel pump, which is part of the reason why it broke.

Hopefully the pictures compare the lower alt mounting point, to the two upper bolt holes on the bracket, and notice how the one with an X cast into it mounts the alt lower and away from the engine. That's what I need.






The member I got this mount from is checking his inventory for what I need, just wanted to get a jump start on finding the correct part in case he doesn't have one.

FYI - this is in no way a "he sold me the wrong thing" thread. Seller communicated quickly when I informed him the mount wouldn't work. Just want to make that clear.

 

Look for part number 397209 or 389235.
