I was not aware the factory used chromed steel LN's
Interesting
I collected a few sets of SS capped ones a while back when National Automotive Lines was offering them. Chrome always rusts... the capped ones last if you don't install/ remove with an impact.

I've had problems with the capped ones and SSI wheels in particular. The holes in the wheels tend to open up just a little bit with use and the outer-most part of the seats on those nuts are a small enough diameter that the nuts seat far too much into the holes to the point of being dangerous. Maybe they are fine with other wheels, but I won't use them with SSIs.

a little off topic but i bought some 'correct' ss11 lug nuts from inline tube and two of them wont retorque after a few wheel removals, they just have that slow keep spinning stripped feeling...they claim to be usa made but the metal seems soft...the real deal ones are like 300 bucks a set
