His phone contact # is 276-XXX-XXXX. BE WARNED. He will ask for certified funds to be mailed to XXX XXXXXX Dr, Richland Va. 2464X.

SS sent pics of parts I needed for 62 Starfire A/C set up. We agreed on price plus ship cost. I sent BOA bank check Sept 18 2013. He called and said check recieved and prts were going to be mailed not later than 30 Sept. Now when I call it ALWAYS goes to voice mail and he NEVER returnes my calls. I have not recieved parts or anything. Going on a month and no word. If you are working on an Oldsmobile you know how rare it is to find someone with the right original part when you need it. He even text pics of parts.

Is there possibly a chance that because you have the address wrong he never got the money?

The address should be:

XXX XXXXXXXX Dr, Richlands, VA 2464X

It doesn't eactly look like a bad neighborhood either

Whats his user name? Is it possible he has been ill? I'm running out of fingers to keep up with how many people I know that have had heart attacks in the last few months. Not defending just trying to play devils advocate.

So I am guessing that not the case.

I was typing as he posted it. That info was not in the original post

It's been about two weeks since he said he'd ship it. That's not a lot of time. Things come up. I wouldn't be throwing his name out there yet. I did a google search of his name and number and NOTHING negative comes up. Personally I deal with paypal (if the purchaser pays the fees) or Postal Money order. Both protect myself and the buyer

If you mailed the money ... it's mail fraud. Go see your postmaster. See what he thinks.

Ralph, that is a bummer that you don't have your parts yet. Hopefully they show up soon.

Mike, you mentioned you used PayPal or a Postal Money Order. I know how PayPal works; however, do the money orders protect the buyer in the event of a scam artist? If so, this might be the way to go (espeically if someone doesn't want to set up a PayPal account).

Yup. File a claim with the Postmaster General via the post office.

They will investigate and at least give you an update. They take that crap pretty seriously too.

If it's a postal money order and you mail it then it's all federal. I like to receive Postal Money Orders because people don't mess with scamming them the way they do with bank checks. I'm not sure if a postal money order has any built in protection like pay pal. I should note that I've never had a problem buying or selling in over ten years.

I'm not big on Paypal ... I've heard some horror stories that I won't waste your time detailing. Google has it all.

For now, seller's personal information has been removed. Seller has provided me tracking number of packages sent via USPS, both show as "in transit." I'll PM them to you, Ralph Mack.

yeah..if you do a lot of sales, you know the postal m/o's are not safe anymore...

the p/o has even set up an 800 number to check them, to see if legit....i got a counterfiet postal m/o last year, fortunate for me, i tried to cash the m/o while i was trying to ship the part...and caught it...

nothing is safe anymore...but if i do business online and a seller refuses paypal..im out..period...at least i can get my money back if they fail to complete...

now the big scam is to accept a paypal payment, and the seller/crook sends an envelope with a blank piece of paper, so they have a tracking number to give to paypal and it gives them enough time to rip 8 or 10 people, and they disappear...do it again under a new name and on and on..its a huge prob on ebay lately..

protect yourself...you see an ad and the guy has 1 or 2 posts...and the price is so good its hard to believe....id probably just move on..more stuff will come around..

Not any more. Just made a 2nd pass through and blanked the rest out. If the parts don't show up, I'll out it all back in place. If they do, this thread goes away.
