68 400 Choke Thermostat

Hey all, this is what I think I need:
One of my 67's was missing the choke thermostat. The carb had been replaced. I got a 67 choke, but there was no way it was going to hookup to the carb. Checked the numbers on the carb and it is a 68 Quadrabog.
So if anyone has a choke thermostat for a 68 400 I think that will bail me out for the interim.
Thanks

I believe you can order a new one through Supercars Unlimited. Try their website at www.supercarsunlimited.com and check out their on-line catalog.

Another thing to consider, the 66-67 intake has a shallower well than the 1968. From what I remember the 1968 coil hangs down lower. I've never tried to put a 68 coil in a 67 intake. Will it fit?

I know for a fact that is true for the '67 330/'68 350 (the '68 choke will NOT fit in a '67 intake). I'm not sure (and would be interested to find out) if it is true for the 400.

Never thought about any difference in the choke well from 67-68. The one I have fits in the well fine, but the rod is just way too long.
Got one coming and I'll see if it works out. I may end up just swapping the rod if the choke itself is too deep.
This is an experiment, as I need 2 of these chokes. I will definitely be in touch with one of you to get the other car's choke.
Many Thanks.

John and Alan you are right. The 68 is too deep. I may have to invent something if I can't find a choke to fit this combination.

I've got the same issue with my 67 330. It has a 68 carb and the 68 choke won't fit in the well, the 67 choke fits in the well, but the rod is too long. I tried putting a 67 carb on, but the car i bought, advertised as ready to go, doesn't work, one of the mixture screws is frozen so I put the 68 carb back on and am running a manual choke for the time being

OK, got a 68 choke and that didn't work out as planned. Had to use the 67 I had and fabricate a choke rod. Works fine for now, but will need the real thing. Anybody got a choke thermostat for a 67 400 they don't want?
