Where can I get a new steering wheel?

My 1988 oldsmobile delta 88 royale brougham steering wheel is cracked in a few spots. The center piece is fine.

Is there a way I can get a new (NOS or Repro) steering wheel "frame" without paying 700$?

No one repros these. Very occasionally an NOS one will pop up on ebay.

Fix it yourself or be prepared to pay an arm and a leg when a NOS one comes along.

Or, cover it if you can't fix it yourself.

Patch the cracks and put a Wheelskin cover on it.

Steering wheels get like that because of age, not mileage. Any NOS wheel has a good chance of being just as cracked as yours, even if it's been tucked away in a box for 40 years.

As has been noted, they can be repaired, but it's expensive.

The wheel on my '77 Toronado wasn't cracked, but the chrome tape or whatever it is around the front-surface was peeling off. I just put on it a leather covering. Cut it to size and sewed it on myself. I think it looks great, and it does preserve the wheel underneath if I ever did want to get it repaired.

Before and after photos.

Not positive if this is the same design for those 80s years but here is an NOS one in royal blue. If yours has the same dip in the frame I’d figure it works. Pretty much perfect for 40+ year old wheel. $550.

This is another NOS but no box with it. This one has the textured vinyl feel while the other is smooth. This one is dark sapphire. $600.

That cover works wonders on that wheel, looks great!
