Head gaskets

I’m in need of a pair of .017 factory steel shin head gaskets for my 455. Anyone have any leads to wear I can find a set? Thanks Eric

Hi,

I believe Cometic makes a mls that 0.23 or 0.27 thick, as I got some for a 330 I had. Little pricey like a 100 each.

Saw a fat stack of them things not to long ago & wondered why I needed all them....now I know... Distribution.... Will have to mic em but 98% certain thats what they are...

If you decide on the factory shims, make sure the surfaces are smooth and dead flat, so they will seal. Cometic makes .027 and the Corteco 55661 is/was .028" and would seal well.

I have a spare set of the 55661 if you can't find the steel shim.

I have a set of corteco’s .028 head gaskets. But wanting to put the motor back together with the shims. The block was never touched and never had leaks before.
