I currently have a 3.08 posti-trac in my A/C car. I’m looking to upgrade to a higher ratio ring and pinon. I believe the maximum recommended is a 3:41.

The LOWEST ratio that was factory installed in an a/c car was 3.23. The 3.42 was deemed too LOW, which would spin the water pump too fast at highway speeds, due too the large diameter pulley on the crankshaft and smaller one on the water pump. If you want to use a LOWER gear ratio in the rear end, you might consider an overdrive transmission.
