Looking for the upper rear window molding for a 78 Cutlass Supreme coupe.
Has to be from a full vinyl top car, not the landau top as they are different.
Hopefully you can see it in the pic if you zoom in on it, has a nice dent just off center.

In looking at this piece, they look the same as the non-vinyl roof cars (?). The full vinyl roof was not padded and was very thin, it may be likely a replacement from a non-vinyl roof 1978-1979-1980 Cutlass may help out.

 

These pieces can be restored to new condition by a good chrome shop.

 

I think you're right Gene. My 78 had the Landau roof and the trim was completely different.

I have a ton of 1978-80 Oldsmobile Cutlass parts but couldn't find the rear window trim I knew I stashed away years ago. I came across 2 sets of both front and rear windshield trim for the 1978-80 Salons but not the one I had for the Supreme/Calais models. I'll try looking for it again. If I find it, I'll pm you. If you need any other parts for your 1978 just let me know. I may have it. I've owned my 1979 Hurst/Olds for over 22 years now and every time I saw a part I might have needed for it in a local salvage yard, I picked it up. I see you're in NH. I live in Leominster, MA which is only about 20 minutes from the border at Brookline, NH.

WOW! Man, that is one scorched 78 Cutlass. I can see there was a vinyl roof on this one at one time, the dead giveaway is the fact it was not painted were the top was, a GM trademark if there ever was one. And, from what I can see the stainless steel trim around the back window is the same as if the car did not have a vinyl roof. Thanks for the thread Allan, that was a good template.
