Hey folks, I'm swapping a 350 SBO into an '85 Monte Carlo and I need those lower mounts for the front subframe, anybody got a pair laying around with decent rubber? I could maybe use the upper ones too if you have them.

lower olds mounts don't have rubber. they are all steel and the engine mounts have the rubber. use small block olds engine mount with small block olds frame mounts. sorry, I sold my last set.

whoops, yes, I realized that earlier, but yeah I still need the lower metal ones to make my project work

the trans ams with 403 olds engine used rubber mounts on the chassis and metal brackets bolted to the engine.i think i have both kinds but wont have time to look very soon.

Those are not correct for a G-body. The G-body mounts look like this (and use the 2328 motor mounts). FYI, those same frame mounts were used on the B/C body cars with Olds 307 motors. Note that they are RH/LH, as the upper bolt is offset.

This was very confusing to me when I figured out they were different. I pulled a bunch of hardware from my 1977 R-code Firebird and it uses metal upper mounts that bolt to a rail on the side of the block. My 1970 350 block has provisions for both mounting types. Obviously that's not the style for a 307 G body

I have done the exact same swap. It raised a few eyebrows when the hood was opened.
I have the frame mounts as pictured by Joe Padavano. The are rusty but should clean nicely. Let me know.

Every single 1964-1990 Olds V8 block has the same three motor mount bolt holes on each side of the block. The front two holes are used for 1964-1970 full size and 1973-74 Omegas (the rear steer cars). The rear two are used for all other Oldsmobiles. The T/A brackets were designed to pick up all three bolt holes since the position of the frame mount is halfway between the two "normal" Olds mount positions. Interestingly, the Sevilles with the EFI Olds 350 and the 1980s Fleetwoods with the Olds 307 used block brackets like the T/A (but not exactly the same) and the Chevy-style clamshell frame mounts. Why Caddy did this when Olds used the same chassis with conventional mounts is a mystery. The Olds diesel motors also used a similar strap on the driver's side only since that motor mount needed to be offset forward to clear the larger diesel starter.

And yeah, I definitely wanted to do an attention-catching build, and since a lot of people are LS-swapping classic Olds cars I figured dropping an SBO in a Chevy could turn that trend on its head and raise some eyebrows.
