Looking for a good set of street gears for a 57 to 64 olds rear end, around 3:50. Been looking for some time. New gears are 4:10-5:56. I have a set of 2:87[?] and 4:88 gears in posi cases, both are to low or to high. Can e mail me direct at ssaza@***.net. Thanks

 

Been looking for how long??? Fabcraft metal works has been selling them brand new for years

 

I have been looking for the last few months, I have contacted Fabcraft and no ratios in the 3's. They have 4:10 and up. I got my rear disc brakes from them.

 

Are the 2 posi cases and gear sets for sale ? Price ? I might be interested in the 4.88 for my '57 Olds 88. Anyone know if the number of axle splines are the same 57-64 ? I'll try to send email, in the morning.

57 and 58 axles had 28 splines . 59 thru 64 had 31 splines.
However , New 31 spline axles can be had for 57's .

I have a 3.42 posi from a '63 Starfire. $650 plus the shipping. Also have a 3.08 open from a '63 Pontiac Grand Prix. $275 plus the shipping. The posi unit from your 2.87 should fit the 3.08, but maybe 3.08 is a little bit numerically lower than you want.
