Urgently looking for an 1933 oldsmobile straight 8 block or complete engine!
1933 Oldsmobile Straight 8 engine help urgently needed!
I work in a restoration shop and we currently have an 1933 Oldsmobile Convertible Coupe Straight 8 car we are working on. We got the run around from the engine builder for 10 months and then finally get the engine back and the block is bad due to cracking. So we are in urgent need of either a block or complete engine. Also any information on what all years will fit this car or any other models across the general motors line up we could get an engine from. It is an 1933 Olds straight 8 240.33 cu in. Thank you very much for any information.
That is a bummer that the block is bad. Have you investigated if it can be repaired? Ultimately, that might be a better option than waiting to find another engine. I'm sure 1933 Oldsmobiles are few and far between.

According to Setting the Pace, Oldsmobile used the 240 cubic-inch, straight-8 engine starting in 1932 and going through 1936, so that gives five model years for possible donors. It was rated at 87 hp in 1932, 90 hp in 1933 and 1934, and 100 hp in 1935 and 1936.
