There are many posts on 2004R swap. I am looking a primary throttle shaft and lever with a provision for a TV cable. My QJ is stock 7040250. I don’t have the means to make such a modification. Send me PM if this is something you fabricated before and can do the same for my carb. Thanks!
Take this FWIW to you. I still have 2 Oldseseses running 200s where iirc, I enlarged this hole big enough to install a TV Stud and they have worked flawlessly for 15 years and counting.
Is the geometry perfect? I don’t know, like I said, they work flawlessly.
Alternative is to do it truly “right” and change the throttle arm, but I can guarantee that 3 minutes with a drill is much quicker & easier than changing the arm, I’ve done it both ways, including a Chevy arm onto the Olds Qjet on my el Camino, which is basically what you are looking for. The new arm can be tacked on or you can drill & tap the shaft for a #4 (iirc, maybe #6) screw to retain the arm.
Qjet builders would surely offer the service but that involves some disassembly & shipping. How are the primary bushings? If worn, send the whole throttle plate & have bushings installed along with throttle arm.
Thanks for the information. If there is a Qjet builder that offers the service, let me know. I would just send out the carb to get the work done.
If someone has a 7040250 or 7040251 carb done with the throttle lever changed over to be used with a TV cable, I would consider buying it as another option.

I have a couple of late model Q-jets that I picked up specifically for that very reason. I can provide you with the base complete, for you to have the work done, or convert yours. Where are you located? You can email me for pics and to discuss: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.
