WTB: Original Rear Drum Backing Plates in excellent condition

I am looking for a pair of original rear drum backing plates in excellent condition for my 72 Cutlass Supreme. They must be smooth, and not have been attacked by the acne monster like mine below.

That is most unfortunate.

I contacted ILT (that place in which I heard some are not supposed to speak of which of not to be speaking) and they stated the backing plates in their complete rear drum kit are made in the US. Considering their kit (all hardware included and mounted on backing plates) although I prefer original.

Nice ones pop-up occasionally for about $50.00/pr. Hang in there. I think I need all the ones I have. The real ones are also stamped Delco Moraine,if that matters.

Nope, you don't need any more. If they are purty smooth and pit free, you can sell to me. It's ok, I authorize it.

I build a lot of rears, but I also do some for some guys doing an all-out concours restoration, which I call restoration rears.Every single piece on that rear has to be flawless. That's where these are needed, when needed.
I will see what I can do.
Another thing to note: You may find some that look just like yours, but have a strip of metal tacked around the bottom area. Those came on the Chevy rears.Nothing wrong with putting those on,but just to know yours never had them on originally. You can also drill the spotwelds, and remove them, especially if they are bent or ripped, which is what usually happens when one of those rears is set or dragged on the ground.

I am still debating get the ILT backing plates. They claim they are US made. I asked to see close up pics. Will see if they can send any. Not too worried if Delco Moraine is visible b/c my ratty ones you can't see nothing... and they are original.

If you have a nice smooth set, I will pay extra for them. I need them very soon though, as they are holding up my complete rear end rebuild. I have everything else waiting. thx.
