WTB 1970 442 Air Cleaner Base

Looking for a reasonably priced 1970 442 air cleaner base with or without the weep holes in the bottom. Trying to find something for under $200.00 with shipping included. Does not have to be OEM.

they are pretty easy to copy..ive done a few..just find a standard base look for some pics, and go at it...semi ruff ones are bringing 400ish...so..doing it yourself could save some money

i do have a 70 base off a 70 vista that was a 455 car(i have the whole drive train still)..it looks right to me..actually has a date code stamp in it still..ill see if i can put my hands on it, and get some pics, some holes popped here and there and it would be close enough to pass...

Mark.
I have one from what appears to be a big body car that fits nicely but it has the long snorkel. Trying to find one with a shorter / wider snorkel. I'm not sure if anything other than the 442's had them. I know I my chances of finding the correct one at that price range is slim but I thought I'd throw it out there. I've ponied up for most everything I've purchased for this car so hopefully I'll get a little break.

I'm not sure what the dimensions are.
There's a 70 W31 at my buddies body shop. I'll try to stop in there tomorrow and take some measurements.

I can't help you with the 442 base, but I am looking for a non 442 base for my '71 455. Dated 153 71 or earlier would be slick. If either of you have one and want to sell it, please let me know.

Thanks! I should have said it was for a 455 Cutlass, but from my parts book, A & B bodies used the same one. Do you have the intake & starter from that 71?

71 442 air cleaner complete

I have an air cleaner off a 71 442. It says 442 on the lid and is not the OAI style. Let me know if that is what you are looking for. I put the ram air hood on it along with that style air cleaner set up and have had this on the shelf for a few years.

air cleaner base

I actually just bought a total repro model from partsplace thinking I had lost it during the restoration or it got tossed when we moved and of course the day the new one came, I found the old one. Anyway, I do have it with the holes and all, its a GM original. The problem is the shipping cost. It's so oversize as far as the USPS is concerned, the last time I shipped one of these to Chicago area, it cost me 115 bucks. That doesn't leave hardly anything for the part. If you know a better/cheaper way to ship it from 89048 to you, I'm listening..

I have already purchased a base but thanks for the offer.
