I have a NOS GM fuel sending unit in stock. It is correct for all 1961 Olds models except F-85 or station wagons. Please email me if you are interested in more information about it. Thanks, Olmanwinter

The factory part number for this part is 5641245.
I googled it and came up with this;

not cheap at $325 but it is available.
Have you checked the float , to make sure it floats? You may be able to repair it by simply changing the float . There are also shops across the country that specialize in repair of sending units . Check Hemmings Motor News .
