wheels needed

mounting 275 60 15s on rear of 69 442 rag top ... understand that I need 15 x 8 with 4 to 4.5 back space to make them fit right ... anyone out there have something that will work? Have SSII now but narrow and anywat I want to keep my other tires mounted and ready to go back on... Bob Lynch .. bynch@fusioncmg.com ... 949 466 7873

Bob, if you want to keep the stock look you can have a set of 15X8 inch wheels made by cutting the center out of some 14X7's and having them welded into 15X8 blanks. That way you can put the backspacing at whatever you want. I know there's a guy selling on ebay that does that. I had a set of 14X7 SSI wheels made into 15X7 chrome plated rims. John

amazing! will consider that ... must be a good blacksmith around los angeles somewhere ... have u ever run 275 60 15 on the rear of an A Body? Is 4 to 4.5 the right b s? ... thanks ... Bob

Yah, Stockton Wheel, or Wheelsmith, both in Cal, and they both do excellent work..however, you may want to find deeper trim rings first, they're hard to find with the factory style hole for the valve stem, then you can do some measuring so as to have the ring fit the same as your 14" inchers.
I'll try to get some pics of 15x8 SSII's we had made.
