Wanted NOS 71 350 Cam

I have found that all aftermarket cams are made with blanks and have a smaller base circle and thus don't work with stock non adjustable valve train. I have adjustable pushrods in now and seems ok, but I don't like it. I am looking for a stock factory cam (and lifters if available) for a 71 Cutlass 4 bbl. Thanks, Greg

An easy fix, rather than tearing your engine down, would be to remove material from the bottom of your rocker arm pedestals.

Very interesting idea, never thought of that. But it would be kinda hard to go back after that was done. Thanks , I'll consider it.

Can you use new push rods that are the correct length to get the same end result? You already have adjustable rods set to the correct length, so just use that length to order new one-piece push rods.

Not at all. A new set of rocker pedestals is cheap.

Well what happened is when I went from a Mondello lumpy cam that I hated (My fault- bad match) to a stock type cam I thought all would be hunky dory with stock puh rods, etc. When I put it all together you could tell it wasn't right, I'll bet there was .040 clearance on the rockers. I had the adjustable pushrods still I had put in when I put in the Mondello cam way back, so I reinstalled them and went thru rotating engine and meticulously set each push rod when on base circle. And it is fine, been driven prolly 10,000 miles that way but I would like it to be as Olds designed. So I thought I would see if I can find a original cam- long shot, I know. I wish I had bought one from GM back in the day... So if I can get one reasonable I will get it and put on shelf and some day change. Thanks for your guys input!
