Wanted: Fender Skirts for 1959 Olds 98

I know there are fiberglass skirts out there, but am trying to find some metal skirts either used or NOS.
Thanks,
Jim

Hey Jim,
Just got back to Auss, been away.
I saw fender skirts on Ebay and sure they were metal.

Are you sure? I have been checking ebay faithfully every day for at least a couple of weeks. There was a pair of metal NOS fender skirts for a 1960 Olds, but not 1959. I could have missed what you saw, however. Any chance of you checking your browser history and sending me a link? Don't worry if you can't find it easily since that sort of thing can take quite a long time.............

The 98 is finally ready to pick up after having the brakes worked on. My daughter and I plan on driving the 500 miles to get it within the next week The guy who repaired the brakes told the current owner he only wanted paid for the parts (a couple of wheel cylinders) since it was a privilege to have had the opportunity to work on such a clean vintage car He said the undercarriage didn't have a speck of rust and was cleaner than his truck that is only a couple of years old.
I CAN'T WAIT!!! Will post photos as soon as I get it.

Thanks again,

Jim

Sorry...think I got a bit carried away. Just saw the fibreglass ones on the green coupe.
Wonder if the metal Impalla ones would fit?

I don't know about the Impala fitting......... I wish there was a complete directory of crossover parts for times like these. I posted a want ad on a blog for salvage yards and am hoping for a reply. I could get the fiberglass ones easy enough and I'm sure they would look great, but since the car is 100% original (except for OEM brake cylinders) I hate to put something on other than the NOS Foxcraft metal ones. I just got some of those yesterday for a '59 Plymouth I am also buying and they are way cool. There is no substitute for the real deal..............

Thanks,

Jim

FOUND IT! - Actually found two sets

I should have just called these two internet sellers in the first place, as both of them had the 1959 Olds fender skirt (NOS Foxcraft) but they weren't listed in their online inventory. I bought the one from fenderskirtdepot.com for $225 and it is stainless steel, which I had not planned on and may paint to match the lower body (I know, it is sacrilegious to paint stainless steel). The other one that someone on the forum might want is also steel (not sure if it is stainless) for $250 from a guy in Canada, fenderskirtking.com.

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the info, NAS Backyard. I think you may be referring to Fender Skirt Depot (fenderskirtdepot.com) in Romoland, CA. I bought the stainless steel skirts from him per my post on August 4th. There is another guy in Canada, Fender Skirt King (fenderskirtking.com) if anyone may still be looking.
