I have a 1971 Cutlass Convertible that has that dreaded one wheel spin. Looking to upgrade this nuisance. I live in the south eastern Michigan area.

 

There are many sources for corporate 10 bolt corporate gears and posi carriers. Do you want new or used used parts? Richmond Gear has gears and you can find carriers either new on Summit, Jegs, from monzazz (JD Race) or at salvage yards.

 

Good to hear, I definitely want new. I’m pretty sure I have a stock rear end right now. I just really didn’t know if I needed a 10 bolt or 12 bolt. I am gonna take it to the shop to have them do it. Just wanna get the right parts. Might do 3.23 or 3.42. It’s a summer car that I really don’t take on the highway but I definitely wanna spin them when I want to. Really just a cruiser.

 

One tire fire is definitely a nuisance, it must be cured! You're in luck because the corporate 10 bolt is among the least expensive GM rears to upgrade to a posi, like Fun71 says, plenty of sources for new parts and that keeps prices reasonable. Plus they are plenty tough for street use.
