I am looking for the following: Mounting gaskets for rear air deflector, dash clock with excellent condition face plate (would also consider rally pack), AM/FM radio. I am based in the UK. Thanks!
FYI, I was able to procure a set of NOS gaskets from Shiftysidney years back. I’ve even inquired about having one of them 3D printed to create a reproduction supply for discriminating folks like us. The part seems to be unobtainable on a practical level. The gasket is not just a simple flat piece of plastic/rubber, but has an outer ridge that gives a finished look. If I was not clear previously, THANK YOU Shiftysidney!!!😄
Thanks Gary, the photo is very helpful. I knew that finding originals would be a long shot. I have a NOS deflector bought on this forum, in good condition but without any attaching hardware. Do you replace what attaching screws you used? Robert
I used stainless fine thread dome countersink screws with nylon lock nuts and larger area washers, sealed with some sealant. Of course, this deviates from the factory but I wanted it to be a bit more robust.😊
Robert, although my wagon was California-kept when I bought it, my deflector was from a junkyard in Minnesota and the fasteners were corroded from road salt (the first picture shows the aftermath of removing the deflector-to-bracket screws).
I used stainless sheet metal screws to retain the bracket to the car. As you see in the second picture, I used unpainted stainless bracket-to-deflector screws--after the difficulty with those, I wasn't going to put factory paint over them. I wanted them to stand out!
