Looking for a tailgate that will fit my 72 vista cruiser. mine works but is rusted through at the bottom and every time i open it, is one step closer to not being able to do so anymore.

Correct. Any 68-72 A-body dual action gate should work. However, if you plan to re-use the vista cruiser trim, the mounting holes will be a pain to re-create. If you find a solid gate, you can probably use your current skin, or at least the portion that has the mounting holes.
