i might call him back and pull the trigger if i cant find an intake for less

the parts place sold a mint one a few years back for 4k. Hope you find one somewhere else besides that guy above - nice attitude UGH - a more pleasant ad might get at least a bit more interest.

How does what one pays for something play into what they should sell it for? It's a persons perogative to ask whatever the voices in their head tell them too. The market will dictate what they get.

I saw a copy of the check in person, maybe there was another one since then but from what I remember it was a 4k check. And I'm not saying its not worth the 8k the other guy is asking. I'm just amazed at the attitude presented in the ad. You get more with honey than you do with vinegar.

It seems I also take less offense than most folks when others balk at prices. I guess I'm just as surprised about the asking price of some of these parts and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about rare parts and pricing. So when someone says WTF about a price I look at it as they need to be educated not slammed.

In just seven days....
I can make you a MAN!

Rocky Horror reference aside, in about 6-8 weeks I can make you a proper J 405233 reproduction intake.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/150772154268...84.m1555.l2649

Many happy customers so far.

Then when the Real Thing comes along for $100 you can sell off the replica part.

I would have to say that looks real nice! If it was me I would go with it if I was needing one. You could enjoy your car till you find a reasonable deal on the real deal.

Well, no worries then, call B-Dandy and cough up $8500 and all is well. If the car is real, you will make it back with the sale. Right? Else, why bother?

As well it should be. It's supposed to be functional and fit right... not undetectable. I hope it was presented as bearing a replica intake.
