Is there a concern about using nos fuel pumps with todays unleaded fuel?

I have read that somewhere before, just curious

I don’t think so. I have used my nos pump on my 72 W30 without issue. I’ve never heard that before. Hmmm. Al

For sure it was discussed here on the general forum before.

I only recall because I have a nos fuel pump for a 70-442 and one/two well known posters basically stated it could be a fire hazard (newer leaded gas could eat into some area of the pump and cause a leak). I hope that is not the case obviuosly (not only due the safety concern, but I would like to use my nos fuel pump at some point). It was a while back, maybe I am remembering incorrectly, but I don't think so.

I haven’t heard this before but if the diaphragm does tear your bigger concern is actually fuel entering into your oil pan.

I hear this all the time but I have not had a problem with any NOS pump yet. Even NOS 1962 pumps are working great in both of our 62 Jetfire.
