Wanted: 10 bolt 'O' type Posi carrier for 2.56 gears

I'm restoring a 1970 Cutlass SX and am replacing 3.23 rear posi gears with 2.56 gears. I have the 2.56 gears, but i now realize that I need a "673" stamped posi carrier to have the 2.56 gears fit. does anyone have one for sale or trade for my current posi carrier?
Al

I've located a 673 carrier and am installing now. thanks to those who've responded with comments and offers of advice and parts.
Al

I had a 2.56 posi in a 1970 Cutlass and with the 455 I had in the car it got down the road just fine. I even ran a 13.89 @ 97 mph QM going through the traps in second gear.

I had a 2.56 posi in my '70 Supreme and I swapped that thing out as fast as I could. The current '71 vert had one as well, and it now sits behind the garage while a 3.23 posi is under the car.

Stay with the 3.23s and put a tall tire on the car to tame the rpm a little.
The SX also came with 3.08s. The 2.56 gears suck with a T400.

That is an opinion. Look at my reply a few posts up. I had A LOT of fun with that car and surprised more than my fair share of ricky racers with it.

And you have your opinions just like I have mine. I owned a 1970 so equipped and disliked it.

Just imagine how well your car would have run with a 3.08 3.23 or 3.42 gear.

3.23 is probably the best all around compromise gear. I can't imagine wanting to swap it for a 2.56.

There is no question that it would have been quicker, but that's not my point. Just because it has a 2.56 doesn't mean that it automatically becomes a turd.

Besides, I don't think that is the point of what he's trying to do with the car.

Yea, I understand that 3.23 gears give me a better burn out capability, but that is not my goal for this car. I have the original build sheet, I'm going to make it match that. This car has original matching numbers engine and tranny, so a 320 HP 2bbl 455 with 2.56 posi gears is what it'll have when I'm done. I want the restored car to have the same personality it was born with. Probably why they sold so few of this particular Cutlass model originally in 1970. My hope is that someday when I sell it, someone will appreciate this classic as it was originally. Thanks for your feedback!

There was a reason for that, but it's your car and you have a plan for it and I can respect that.
