I have one in NH, I took it out of a 70 Cutlass but I don't know how to tell if it is original to that car.

On the ID plate on the passenger side will give you the year at least. But it looks like they painted over it. You can use paint thinner to take the paint off. The trans code and the year is stamped into the data plate. later years had the year and trans code in that order..
sample 75 - OL or OL-68

Hello Gene,

The code on the plate is as follows;
71-PA-22460
Am I OK assuming this is a 71?

Thanks
Dave
