Toro air cleaner

Toro air cleaner
Dont know what year I need, or if they're all the same or not? Do some years have a bigger snorkel than others to allow more air in?
Im told they sit lower than the regular Cutlass or 442 air cleaner? That there's more of a drop on them letting them sit lower on the motor?
Anyone know for sure?
If this is all true, then Im in the market for one.
Thanks!

Even though the '66-'67 are dual snorkeled, I believe the '68-'70 ones have more total cross-section opening.
Yes, they are lower profile, but I believe that most if not all of that comes from the base. So you can always consider a hybrid with a Toro base and a non-Toro lid.
But regardless, the Toro bases are much lower on the carb and may not clear much of anything other than a stock carb.

Toronado intake manifolds are sunken down also so if you find an air cleaner it should provide plenty of clearance. Are you set on a original piece? If not RamAir makes bases in many sizes http://www.ramairbox.com/bases.html

Want one with the same width as a stock Cutlass/442 air cleaner. Going to put one of these with one of my H/O top cans and see if it will clear the hood with a non stock intake manifold.
