Teepo needs a part

Hi Guys! I am told that Teepo needs the "Negative battery cable Hold Down clamp" that holds the cable to the alternator bracket.

Do any of you have one of these you'd like to sell?? Thanks!

Sandy

The plastic strap she seeks is the part in the center far-right of this picture...

It is only on A/C equipped cars.

Not sure if it's that one or this one http://shop.docrebuild.com/1974-1980...GM1239007.aspx

I think their 3917385 is closer to mine, as mine has the stud that presses into the hole. However, the 12.50 price may make the 4778650 one more cost effective.

Here is a closer picture of mine; the bolt below is 3/4" long.

EDIT - Now the Assy manual calls out for part # 1239007, so go with that and call it quits!

GA solved it for ya (assuming that place crossed the numbers correctly)!

I bet mine was whatever the linemen had in their bucket. A strap was a strap back then!

Oh my; I should have kept my big mouth shut...
No, the bolt does not come with it. It was in the picture and I left it there as a size reference. It held my starter heat shield on...
I say just get the http://shop.docrebuild.com/1974-1980...GM1239007.aspx
one that GA mentioned. It matches the part number, so it should be at least close.
Or maybe we should start a thread - Show us your negative cable straps!"
Yes they look cheezy, but that's what GM used.

That clip looks like it's for the Pos cable, below the master cylinder...she wants a Neg clamp which bolts to the side/front of the power steering bracket... although she said Alt bracket...

Not on the 72 with AC and AT. The pos. cable is held by two other totally different looking clips.

A/C cars have the neg cable loosely strapped to the lower alt bracket in 72. If no A/C, then it would be clamped to the P/S pump bracket.
