spindle nut match

I'm in BIG trouble... I cant find a front spindle nut for my 1949 Olds 88 any where. Its a 3/4-20 with left hand thread. This is the castle nut. I can find spindle nuts for a 1950 but cant tell if its a left hand thread like mine is. Anyone know if the 1950 also used a left hand thread? If I can't find one, I'll have to have one made at a machine shop. Any help would be appreciated!
Nathan

According to the parts book all '41 thru '56 Oldsmobiles used the same spindle nuts .
The part number for the left side is 410901 . And yes , it is a left hand thread .

Post a ad in the parts wanted section, I'll bet you'll get one.

Local auto parts dealers showed me the 1950 and up spindle nuts won’t work. They are standard right hand thread. The 1949 spindle nut I need is a left hand 3/4-20 castle nut

I did a little more research and discovered that this part also fits Cadillacs from 1941 thru 1959 .
I did find an NOS one on the net . But it's awfully pricey .

The nut on the passenger side is right hand thread .
The nut on the driver side of the car has a left hand thread .
The same thing as the lug nuts .

Thanks also for those links. I was able to download the last one but not any of the first three. Seeing that I have a 1941 and not a 1954 like the parts catalog, how did you know they shared the same part? I'd love to get good at using those catalogs once I can get them downloaded.

The parts catalogues go back eight to ten years or more from the date of printing.

It's easy , first find the part you are looking for in the illustrations ;

The nut you are looking for is in group 6.022 . all spindle nuts , no matter what they fit , will be in group 6.022 .
Then go to group 6.022 in the parts list ;

These are large downloads , so you must download and save them to your computer .
