I decided to not replace the damaged console in my '68 442 with just a boot and trim plate.
The attached picture shows the bottom portion of the shifter and the boot and plate I currently have, which were used with the console.
Because the area where the plate would be affixed is rounded, the plate can't be effectively/neatly attached.
Also the top opening of the boot appears to not be shaped correctly for the "rectangular" shifter shaft.
I'm looking for a boot and trim plate which will work, or advice on the best source for these items.

You can also obtain the hold-down ring that affixes the boot to the trans hump at the usual online outlets - Fusick, OPGI, OldsParts.com (formerly Brothers or BAP), etc.. I have a spare rectangular boot, but it is the one that mounts to the console, not to the floor.
