shift collar for 1950 hydramatic, column shift

I need a (cast) collar that the shift lever goes into and pivots within to shift (on the column) my 1950 hydramatic. My collar broke at the pivot point and I do not know how to drive this without shifting. Any leads would be appreciated.

I saw a diagram printed in an IPB with the number "4.038" but that may refer to a group of parts associated with that collar (like turn signal apparatus, shift detent, etc.). I can't take the damn collar off the steering column at the moment (the wiring for horn, turn signals, etc. are holding it fast and I do not have knowledge or experience to remove it, yet) so I can't read any numbers off the collar itself. Does that get you close enough to identify what I need or should I do some more research and get back to you?

The part I need is a somewhat conical shaped housing that the shift lever is inserted into and through (so that it meshes with the shift mechanism within the steering column. It encircles the steering column just below a small ring that supports the "ND12R" window/indicator. The shift lever has a pin through it that is inserted into this collar and serves as the pivot point of the shift lever for when you pull the shift lever towards you/the steering wheel. This pivot point is what broke on mine. Does that make sense?

That looks similar to what I need, with the fins and everything. However, the collar I need has an attachment point/channel on one side for the shift lever to fit into. Also, I believe the turn signal lever is inserted through a hole on the opposite side. I don't recognize that part in your pictures...

Charlie, thanks for the part number. I'm lost regarding sources. I do not know of anyone reproducing those or able to supply me with one. Do you have any suggestions on who I could present that part number to?

You might try a " saved search " on E-Bay .
Title it " Oldsmobile 5660620 " . If an NOS one pops up on E-Bay , they will E-mail you and let you know .
Your best bet is to try to to find a good used one . According to the parts book , this part was used in all 1949 & 1950 Oldsmobiles with Hydra-Matic.

It was exactly what I needed! It was delivered today. I'll use that as a guide to remove the current one (I still haven't been able to do that without cutting it off). Thanks so much for the link! I thought I was supposed to be notified if that product appeared on eBay but I was not. I have a bit more to learn about buying "unpopular" products.

This illustration may help. 1949 will be much the same as 1950;
