I need a 14x6 JK rim to use as a spare tire for my 1961 Olds Super88. From what I've read on here it's 5x5 bolt pattern and can be from 1961-1964 full size models.
I was ready to buy it from a seller from ebay that has a junk yard but I keep having to go back and forth and I'm not sure I'll end up getting the correct rim.
I'm a little confused on measuring the bolt pattern. I bought a set of 14x6 rims from a guy that said they came off his 1962 Starfire and I tried them on the car and they fit. But when I measure across the bolts I get 4 3/4", the center hole is 3" and 3" across the first two holes center to center. Am I measuring correctly?
Thanks
It's called a Bold CIRCLE, because the measurement is the diameter of a circle that passes through all five holes. Measuring across two non-adjacent holes of a five hole bolt pattern gives you a measurement that is related to the bolt circle, but is not the actual bolt circle.

I'll tell you, owning this car has really dusted the cobwebs out of my head . I can make sense of it now.
You are a real asset to this site, really appreciate your help. Thank you.
remember years ago, stumbling over a few of those in the East El Paso pick a part. UPAP, formerly MEGA. ODD bird. Figured no one would ever buy one, so left them be.
