Remember to tighten up lug nuts

Yesterday a tire came off a suburban and hit the side of my parents house. The tire traveled about 200 yards snaked through a bunch of trees to hit the house. Nobody was home and nobody got hurt including the driver. I am thinking the after market rims were wrong for the vehicle. 3 studs were sheared and 3 pulled through the rim.

Where the tire hit the house

The inside wall. The tire hit a stud square otherwise I think it would have been worse.

some of the mess . It broke an old marble top dresser and knocked it about 5 feet into the room. There were book shelves on the wall so books everywhere. Some flew across the room and damaged the wall on the other side. It is a mess but could have been much worse.

Yep. Had a similar issue years ago-our new Youth Pastor at church lived next door to the church with his wife. She was (I believe) 7 months pregnant with their first child and got up to do something...not 30 seconds later a trailer tire from a passing Semi barreled through the front window and onto the couch where she was sitting.

Nevermind the damage done to vehicles in that instance-that doesn't matter at all when it comes to property/bodily harm.

Glad everyone was okay.

Good to know that everyone is ok. Did the driver provide insurance info at least?

That outlet is dangerously close to the impact, a few inches and it may have hit it and started a fire.

When ever I remove a wheel/wheels. Torque to spec and drive it for a mile with quick stop both forward and reverse and come back and re torque and I always have some that will turn slightly.
