Reservoir's & pulley

I'm looking for the coolant & washer fluid reservoirs for a 1972 Cutlass. Also looking for a water pump pulley with 3 grooves. The 2 groove I have, the second groove lines up perfect for the water pump, but I need a 3rd groove for my alternator. I don't have A/C.

There's more than one three groove pulley for the water pump. If you would get the two letter codes off the crankshaft and power steering pulleys we can key out the one you need. John

Ok. The other thing I've found out is the PO replaced the water pump, & it is physically longer than the original by about an inch. Napa, Auto Value, etc all show the same pump for a 1972 Cutlass w/350 no A/C & it is longer than the original. The pulley I have is off of the original pump, it has "KN" on the front of it. The pic shows the measurement & if I could find one that measured 3" from the base of the pump to the back of the 3rd groove that would do it.

There is a chance that someone replaced the engine along the way. '68-'70 pumps are the same for a given application and '71-up are different from the earlier ones. Check the # on the front of the driver's side cylinder head, next to the front head bolt. '72 should be a 7a. Just a thought.

I do know for sure that the engine is the original. The heads have the "7a" on them as well.

KN is 7.3 diameter x 2.07 overall width

W3 [Water Pump, 3 groove] pulleys with width about 2.7" would include

JI from a '67 330; spacing will differ a little between an end groove and the other 2

JH from a '67 425, same spacing diff.

KF from a '70 wit AC

LD from the smog era engines

The best way is to put the proper length WP back in place with the proper pulley.
It should not be that hard to find the correct length WP.

The 2nd best method would be to read the ID code on your crank pulley, bring that info here, and we can then figure out what WP pulleys, if any, will fit right-ish. I have a mockup V8 I can test fit pulleys on. And a good stash of used pulleys.
