Should be super easy to procure.
You may wish to specify what the engine is... exactly.

I've got one on eBay right now. Cheap. It's off of a 68 455.

Go to a parts store and get a new one. I had a motor built in Baltimore and the new flex plate was $60. Not worth the chance of messed up teeth on a used one----Mine was balanced at the "House of Balance".

I would take a used factory part with good teeth over something produced recently [almost certainly Chinese], any day. Over and over this lesson has been learned. Fit, function, finish, durability, hardness.... all can be wrong.

normally I agree that used factory parts are best, but last year I picked up a flexplate at Autozone of all places, FRA102 by pioneer. Made in the usa. Great piece very well made and at the time it was 29.99 in stock. looks like it's 39.99 now.

I see...
That kind of tips the balance towards the new part, as long as it fits properly.

SOME things are still made in the USA! YAY!

Exactly----I am sure my race car with a ton of compression and a high torque starter is harder than a stock motor on a flex plate. I am not sure where mine come from but I have yet to have a failure.....on the other hand its hard to find a used flex plate with no wear on the teeth. But this is just my own opinion.

The first thing I check are the teeth. If any of them are damaged,it gets pitched. Then I check to see if it has been modified for something that was rebalanced for a rebuild. As long as everything checks out,and it is the same as it was when new,I keep it.
The one I shipped to you is like that. If you find something wrong with it,I will send another.
The question of whether to use a stock or aftermarket SFI piece, often gets debated when doing a performance build. In my opinion, your typical street/strip engines running under 6,000rpm will work just fine with an OEM flex plate. I had a new ATI flex plate, when the 507 was being built, but Travis was sure a stock piece would be fine,so I still have the ATI in the box, after all this time. I will use it in the 517.
