Hi everybody,

Give F85 a shout on here. Josh has some sets. I was going to get a set for my 66 Starfire but I'm running 15's instead.

Are you sure about the bolt circle. Might it be 4.75? While doing research for original rims I ran across a set of 65 88 wheels. It appears the original rims might be 14x6 JK drum brake rims with a 4.75 Backspace or 1.25 offset. Not sure on this info. I believe the code was S, Are you looking for original, original style; but not necessarily the original offset, just ones that will fit?

88 except Jetstar 88s. S code 14 x 6 5x5 wheels were the standard 14" wheel for the big cars (except J88) for at least '65-'67. I have not tied in the backspace or offset specs for them.

Original original would be the best, yes. But since I've never heard or read an official offset/backspace spec, a 65 88 set sounds good to me.

4.74/1.25 doesn't feel wrong at all, and if your set is from an 65 88 w. drum brakes - then these should be the right ones

PS: I've heared 3,25" backspace before but that was a bit of a guess...

Thanks a lot. I'm coming closer.

So "Code S" it is.

And yes, I am sure I have 5x5 pattern, since I bought a set of 5x4.75 wheels, restored them and couldn't put them on afterwards!

As Wmachine mentioned, be careful...you DON'T want to buy a set of rims off a 64-66 Jetstar 88 (they used 4.75 bolt circle). Also, I seem to recall some 330 equipped '67 Delmont 88s may have used the smaller bolt circle as well (not 100% sure on that).

...thanks, read above.

Scott, all Delmonts got the big brakes and 5x5" hubs. The 5x4.75" hub was strictly a J88 thing.

OK then, I shall stop repeating that misconception then!

(I think my confusion was based on the fact that some Delmonts got the Jetaway trans, like the J88s)

That's true, both Jetaway & TH400 were optional on 330/350 Delmonts.
The other similarity between J88 & Delmont 330/350 is that they both used the intermediate car's (8.2 B/P or 8.5" O) differential, although the Delmonts had the 5x5 pattern on the axles.

AND if it was not confoosing enough, the TH400 was optional on the 1966 J88s, as I recall learning on this site a few years back when such a car, a very nice survivor, was being offered for sale.
