Need lower hood latch for 1940 Olds

What we need is the piece directly behind the grill, where the hood latches. Unfortunately I do not have a part number. What happened is my fiends father took this car apart over 20 years ago. It has now been painted and is being reassembled, this part was no where to be found. Any help is appreciated. His Dad is 85 years old, so he wanted to get this on the road ASAP. Thanks in advance for any help. Greg

There are a number of '40 owners there who can show you what you need and possibly have one.

The lower front hood latch assembly is listed as part number 413392 and fits all F40 , G40 , & L40 models .
According to the 1941 Oldsmobile Master Parts List .

Sorry for delay, I am having problems getting pictures to load. The car is a model 60 2 door. Another thing his dad misplaced is the trim around the windows, also the center piece for the windshield. In need to add there are some bars in the grill also missing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Greg

How much is the part?

This would solve the major issue of closing the hood.

He still needs the rest of the trim.

Thanks
Greg

The part cost 75 cents back in 1941 . Unfortunately GM doesn't sell them today .
I gave you this info out of my 1941 Oldsmobile Master Parts Book to help narrow the search for this part .
I don't have any 1940 Oldsmobile parts .

Since this seller has a 40 hood, maybe he has the parts that you need:

This is what you are after. I have a spare, but it has been repaired and I’d like to keep it for parts. Nobody reproduces parts for these cars, so when you find them it is wise to add to your stash.

Yep. that's it. I showed him the ebay hood and told him to message. His dad disassembled the car long ago and misplaced the parts. He is turning 85 now the car is beautiful, just missing a couple things. Thanks Greg
