Need 70 toro intermediate drive shaft

Hi Looking for intermediate drive shaft for 70 toro, this is the axle extension that runs from differential under the egine to right axle, I think it's the same on any 455 car...need all bolts/brackets too...I bought a 70 with these parts missing...also interested in good starter... 630-859-0402 or cwb26@comcast.net....thanks

You should be able to use one from any 1969-78 Toronado or Eldorado. I think there's some difference in the 66-68 compared to the later ones.

The Jeremiah was parting a 69. Search for his username and contact him to see if he still has this piece. He's on here infrequently though.

right...

yep, thats why I say any 455 car should work, eldos and early cars had different motors and the axle portion itself will probably interchange but the support bracket is most likely different...If I were rolling in dough I'd pop for the hollander interchange guide or an old mitchell crash book would suffice (one if which I must've owned at one point but cannot find now) but common sense says any 455 car...If anybody knows different please post...thanks, cliff

I stripped out the whole front stub from a '70 Toronado a few years ago, I should have that axle with bracket but would have to do some searching in the garage. $45 plus the shipping (I'm in Wisconsin). If the price is o.k. let me know and I'll try to find it.

hi Jhoppe, It turns out the guy I got it from may have (but still investigating) all the missing parts, which are the intermediate axle and bolts for that bracket and bolts for axle coupling, almost all oil pan bolts, starter and bolts, small waterpump bolts and more i'm sure...I'd like to get all these things from 1 place, and if the bearing was good that'd be a plus...and there's probably more i'll need that I don't know about yet....let me know if you got just the axle/output shaft or more...thanks, cliff

Hi jensoen77,
Are the tail lights any good?
I'll need a glove box for my red 68 W-34.

I already did Cliff, thank you.
About 2005, I had my 1970 Toro parts car crushed (trust me, I was not happy with Jeff at the time, but then agian I had this car at his junkyard at no cost. Maine is have some tough part car laws).
Question is your 70 a GT model?

gt?

No, It's a real nice rust free deluxe...I bought from a non car guy who bought it from an estate in east washington state...the deceased had been doing a timing chain and replacing oil pan gaskets and for whatever reason the job did'nt get done and all the parts got lost it sat for 31 yrs in a nice place...it has full size hub caps but I can't stand those ugly cast ones and want to go with the much cooler centers and maybe chromies later...If I ever start making dough again lolol! cliff

I have a 1970 Oldsmobile Strero kicking around. You will need to double check, 1970 (maybe 1969) was the time ,the GM Delco radios could inchange with other models.

I have already sold a 1969 rear deforst grid rear window (correct for 1969 and 1970).

Question,
When the timing chain was replaced, was a STEEL UNIT used?
In my totaled blue Toronado, the chain& gear was replaced in 1995, and it only had 88,000 on the clock. At that time there was no teeth on the gear and ther was a lot of slop on the chain!
What was surprising the Rocket 455 did jump its timing!

Yeah, I had a quick look...cool, and maybe on the radio but my car's pretty nice so I won't need much else The brand new uninstalled gear is steel most if not all gm cars of the era had the nylon gears...I was 16 in 69 and grew up with all these great old cars.(my best buddy's older bro bought a brand new 69 442 w30 we worked on and raced) and have worked on cars professionally for the entire time in one facet or another and have changed more of these than I can remeber...sometimes they'd jump and if you were on the road you could twist the distributor and get them running as if nothing had happend and fix them another day...the new ones bend all the valves and you'll be a sorry s.o.b. after you live thru that...well It seems like you and I signed up without the email option so we gotta come here for a quick email...just use this address cwb26@comcast.net...later cliff
