I'm pretty sure the 63/4 are slightly different than 61/2 in the passages but look like they would line up to the same bolt holes. I need to talk to Everett Horton, he probably knows for sure. I have a 61 starfire motor complete and the stamp code on the manifold is the same for 61/2 but I think you want a dual manifold and I don't know if a dual exhaust was put on 61/2s.

Hi Pat, the 63/64 dual exhaust manifold will fit a 62 as I added it to the 62 wagon, it should fit the 61 Starfire. The dual exhaust manifold was only available for the 63/64 394 engine, the earlier manifold was the single exhaust system manifold and they just rerouted the piping for dual.

Hi Paul, good to see that Vinny is still in the game!
OK to be correct for your 62 88 all you need to do is reroute the drivers side exhaust pipe down and back, you will need the blocker plate for the front of the passenger side manifold.
Now if you want the car to breath easier and have less problems with the tight bends required for the drivers side swap the exhaust manifold with the 63/64 dual exhaust one.
I know it will fit in the space provided because I added it to my 62 super 88 wagon.
Hope this clears things up for you.
The part number I'll have to look up for you but the manifold is only for 2 years and does not fit any other engine so if I remember correctly the part number is the same.
Steve

OK Paul I just looked it up 63/64 dual exhaust manifold 587793
1pc. 587793 1963/32-35-36-38-39 with dual exhaust-left
1pc. 587793 1964/34-35-36-38-39- with dual exhaust-left-not used with st on 34/-57/
this is how it reads in my parts book
the 61/62 exhaust manifold are 579278-right
579279-left

You are welcome any time I can be of service just call.
Vinny hasn't called about the Aluminum panels, are the ones on the car good enough for you?
I added the dual exhaust manifold to my 63 98 convertable and a new system with resonators and it sounds great and moves down the road really quick.
You will need to add some pictures of the Starfire for us to admire!
I have an offenhauser 3x2 manifold for a 59 394 that I'm making the shim plates and installing it on my 62 starfire wagon. Are you going to the Nats in Cinncy this year?
Talk later
Steve
