Looking for the tail panel???

Not sure what this is called but mine is full of pin holes and the seam between the trunk pan area and the painted part is about 99% gone. I don't mind welding and fabricating but there's just not that much left to weld to. If anyone can cut me this piece it would be great.

I can be reached through this message syatem or 716-345-3042. A repairable one is all I need.

The areas circled in red is the section I'm looking for.

Thanks,

Mike

year and model?

Ambitious project there.
Not sure about replacing the entire body while supported on jack stands.

compared to MI parts, your sheetmetal looks pretty solid to me

Can't cut anymore until I figure out what’s next. Repairwhat’s there or start to reassemble then replace that last section. I'm notcomfortable cutting this much while on jack stands either but I have some veryexperienced help from my neighbor. You'll hear a lot of "don't lean onthat" every time I look to see what he is doing.

Since the convertible and 4 door share the same deck lid you might find someone with a 4 door parts car that can cut this section out for you.

I may have it but I'm in Oregon and right now work is way to busy for me to get much done with the hobby stuff.

If you arrange something with 507 Olds, I'm meeting another CO member down in Westfield (Thruway exit 60) this coming Friday morning. Maybe that member could pick up the part from Brian and bring it along since he's coming from Cleveland.
I could get it to you easy enough. I live in Hamburg.

I don't know how rigid the body is--removing the rear panel may make it sag. I'd fabricate a brace to go from side to side a bit in front of the tail panel area.

Parts book listing shows the convert shares the same part with the cutlass supreme 2 door. Both of them use the die cast quarter extension caps.
