Looking for ‘66 starfire parts
Hello,
I am looking for some parts. Pretty sure 88’s are interchangeable but not sure on that. Here’s what im looking for. Please reach out if you have these.
Fuel tank
fuel tank sending unit
exhaust (don’t need manifolds)
body mounts
Also, is there such thing as disc brakes ??
Thank you all.

The 1967-70 full size Olds disks will fit back to 1965. I believe there is at least one set for sale on this site (Scott? John?). Be aware that no one makes replacement rotors, however it is possible to adapt the rotors from a 2010 Camaro V6 with some machine work. Use the 1969-1970 setup with the sliding single piston caliper.

Yes, I still have a setup for sale but I'm in Oregon, Scott is in Indiana. I believe Scott has sold his, but he's come up with two sets within the last year. If your not in a hurry you could let him know your looking and if he comes up with another set you could be first in line.

Joe, I need to create another thread discussing these brakes. I've got the rotors and 4 piston calipers from a 1967, then the complete setup with single pistons from the 1970. The rotors look to be the same, although I can't find numbers in the 1967's. I need to take some good measurements and photos but its possible the 67-70 used the same rotors even though the calipers changed from 4 to single piston designs. John

Scott is in a good location for shipping parts. I had someone interested in mine, but shipping made it too expensive. He was able to buy Scotts and make it worthwhile. Eventually I'll find someone on the West Coast interested in these.

Just to add to the 65-70 disc brake conversion theme, my ‘66 98 with ‘70 rotors is using ‘71 98 calipers. They just needed a bit of filing on the mounts to fit the 70 backing plate. No negative effect on function for 15 or 20 years now.
I kept the big 66 2.5” rear drums factory. Which may bite me some day since those drums have got to be rare now.

Steele Rubber repo's these.
The smaller round mounts , and the square ones might be available from Ames Performance Engineering . A Pontiac supplier.
They show all the dimensions of their available mounts in their full-size car catalog .
I found all the mounts for my '63 Dynamic 88 this way .

The other mounts were selected from the Ames catalog on page 262 .
They were four PS 413 (square) and two PS 416 (round ) mounts .
These were not exactly the same in all dimensions as the originals . But they are "close enough ".
These were for a '63 . Your '66 is different , so you will have to measure and "pick and choose " .
Here's a link . See page 262

When you own one of the " big girls " you have to do a lot of research to find parts .
For $25 you can join the Automotive History Preservation Society , and they have a 1972 Oldsmobile Master Parts Catalog online ( covers back to '63 or so ) . (members only)

I can probably come up with a complete '69/'70-style disc brake setup. Spindles, dust shields, rotors, calipers, master, booster, prop valve, etc. I'm on the south side of Milwaukee, so not that far away (depending, though, on exactly where in Illinois you are). $300 for everything. Some parts would probably have to be rebuilt due to age.
